Someone's come up with an aftermarket system that takes the used water from your bathroom sink, filters it a bit, and uses that water as the flush water for your toilet. People have been building such systems from scratch for years, but this system installs in just about any standard toilet. Details are here. Their estimate is that it'll save a two-person household 5000 gallons of water per year.
