Almonds are now processed even if they are raw and organic.
"It is now required that all Almonds grown in the United States be treated to eliminate pathogens. Current methods use either heat or toxic gas to meet this requirement." These are Organic Almonds that have passed through a steam chamber at 200F for 18-22 seconds. We believe this only affects the outer layer of the almond. This process does not alter that USDA Organic status of the nuts. These are shown as 'Treated'.

Someone told me that all nuts are now processed in one way or another.
Does anyone know any more about this?
