Re: Anyone interested: Lyme & Co-infections Support Group in

Fellow Co-op member Steve Szubak swears by this stuff called Clear. He says it completely cured his wife's Lyme disease after countless other treatment attempts failed. According to the website , Clear contains "a proprietary blend of Oregano (leaf), Clove (flower), Black Walnut (husk), Pepperm...

I've forwarded this to the fellow Lyme sufferers I know. I hope for the best for you all.

I know two Co-op members who currently struggle with Lyme's, and others who have fought off some pretty vicious Lyme's infections. I'll put the word out and give Roxanne's contact info. I'm one of the lucky ones: I caught Lyme's a couple months ago, but the bullseye rash was immediate and unmistakab...

The Co-op was never vegan. As I understand it, we have always carried milk products, eggs, and honey. But we've also always been "non-flesh". From our 1978 Articles of Incorporation (emphasis mine): The purpose for which this corporation is formed is to provide non-flesh foods with a minim...

David, I personally agree 100% with everything you're saying here! That said, I've been told that certain members will be up in arms should the Co-op actually strike those non-vegetarian products from its inventory. I'm hoping we can initiate an organization-wide conversation to resolve this, even i...

Hi, I'm the guy you talked to. I believe the best mechanism for addressing this issue is to join the Product Committee, which is the Co-op's forum for product ethics issues. If you think you'd be interested in serving on this committee, send me a private message ("PM" button immediately be...

Member concerns

Several Co-op members have expressed concerns about a recent personnel change at the Co-op, and how it was handled. This conversation was originally posted in this "General Chit Chat" forum, but has been moved to a dedicated forum for member concerns. Please go here to take part in the dis...

Cellphones killing the honey bees

Scientists have done an experiment which seems to demonstrate that cellphone radiation is a primary cause of Colony Collapse Disorder. See more here . For many environmental problems — climate change, energy production, food scarcity — it's pretty easy to imagine that improved technology will provid...

Not sure, but I've forwarded your posting to our Volunteer Coordinator. She's usually pretty quick to respond.

If that particular shift isn't available, we definitely have others to suit.

Welcome aboard our wonderful team!

Gratefully yours,
John

You're certainly allowed to ask! I suggest calling the store at 732-247-8280 for any price checks. I'd love to answer this one myself, but I'm not at the Co-op right now, and the answer might vary depending on which flavor of Rice Dream you wanted. (We carry several.)

John

Climate change hits wine growers

Because wine grapes are extraordinarily sensitive to temperature, the industry amounts to an early-warning system for problems that all food crops — and all industries — will confront as global warming intensifies. In vino veritas , the Romans said: In wine there is truth. The truth now is that Eart...

Hot-wire foam cutter needed

We are embarking on a project for the Co-op that will require cutting blocks of Styrofoam. The absolute best tool for this purpose uses a wire heated to about 400° F. It's called a hot-wire foam cutter, and they cost something like $30 at various online outlets. I was wondering if anyone in the Co-o...
