Zimride

Last night, I wound up separated from my car and in need of transport. I got in touch with a friend who picked me up. As I was waiting for him to swing by, I imagined a web-based carpool service that would hook drivers up with passengers based on matching their needed routes. To make this service wo...

FDA warns 17 food makers over misleading labelling

It's all over the news, but the first article I found that listed the brands was on WebMD. Anyone know if we carry any of these products?

USDA is approving GMO alfalfa!

From Food Democracy Now: "After years of bureaucratic wrangling, a recent USDA environmental review may finally approve Monsanto’s GMO alfalfa. If approved, GMO alfalfa will fundamentally undermine the entire organic industry overnight. In addition, the USDA says Americans consumers don't care ...

Credit unions

My friend reminded me recently that one of the more effective ways to disempower the most bloated financial institutions is to take your money out from under their control.

To that end: Find your local credit union. Remember, a credit union is basically a bank co-op!

Re: Detox Guru

I beg to differ, Dr. Null (based out of NYC) is constantly looking for volunteers, for his various projects. Just listen to his radio show (WNYE 91.5 FM-- 12 Noon), he is almost always, encouraging his listeners, to call his office on this or that matter. For the record, he does have a large NJ aud...

So perhaps I should say that they don't need someone quite that famous, nor quite that over-qualified. Anyone who's detoxed themselves would be great!

Detox guru wanted

Two wonderful new Outreach Committee members are raring to go on a film project which will require getting some advice -- and if possible, a brief interview segment -- with someone who knows a great deal about a detox diet. Can anyone put me in touch with someone having this expertise? Much thanks, ...

Rich, I edited your posting text so it would show up properly. Apparently, the way you used the "url" tag in your posting confused the messageboard software completely. Never seen this before. All I had to do was remove the tag and your text came right through. Which is fine, because the m...

51" wide futon frame - free

This wooden futon frame is in great condition, and I got it last year but I need the space now for other things. It's a full-size frame I believe -- 51" wide. http://slyfisound.com/futonframe.jpg I'm in Metuchen, and while I may be able to make arrangements to drop off it'll be much easier if y...

Queen sized futon - free

Subject says most of it. I've got a queen futon mattress in fine shape, I just don't need it anymore. I'm in Metuchen, and while I may be able to make arrangements to drop off it'll be much easier if you can pick this up.

Much thanks,
