Spinach pies, hot soup, and coffee are all back in full force! The upstairs café space is open for your enjoyment, but is not serving food at this time.

The George Street Co-op is a non-profit natural foods store owned and run by its members.  We sell vegetarian foods with the greatest nutritional value possible, and only minimal processing or additives.  Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op and choose from our excellent selection of fresh organic produce, bulk foods, vitamins & herbs, body care and earth-friendly products, gifts, and more.

Board Game Tuesday at the Café!

All ages are welcome! Tuesdays from 7pm–10pm, come out and join everyone in a game of chess, checkers, backgammon, Scrabble, or Uno — or bring a different game with you to play! Join the Facebook group here.

The Organic Open Mic

Music, poetry, spoken word open mic at the George Street Co-op Café every Thursday. Signups start at 7:30pm or by contacting the hosts in advance. Performances start at 8:00pm. There’s no cover.

Makers’ Market in the Café

The Co-op has invited local artisans to come together and exhibit their crafty goodness in our café space. Come out for:
 ★ hand-made jewelry
 ★ hand-crafted accessories
 ★ woodcrafts
 ★ candles
 ★ toys made with love
 ★ traditionally blended personal care
 ★ locally made sauces and jams

This is a great chance to SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS AND CRAFTSPEOPLE and find the perfect gift for a loved friend!

Fresh Produce comedy open mic

Comedy open mic at the George Street Co-op Café, second and fourth Sundays of every month. Signups start at 7:30pm, performances start at 8:00pm. There’s no cover.

Board of Directors meeting

Due to COVID-19, the Co-op’s Board of Directors meets at 7:30pm via zoom, the second Monday of each month. All Co-op members are encouraged to attend Board of Directors meetings, whether you prefer to observe discussion or to (respectfully) take part. April 24th Membership Meeting: remote or hybrid?

Spring 2015 Referendum Results

The results of the latest membership referendum are in:
1. Members voted to give the Board of Directors the power to change the Co-op’s senior citizen discount policy.
2. Members voted to permit electronic voting in future referendum votes.
3. Members re-elected Marilynn Winston, Chad Hetman, and John Leary to continue serving on the Board of Directors.

Time for the Spring 2015 referendum!

Co-op members, the official ballot box is here! You have TWO WEEKS (until Saturday April 4th) to mail in your referendum ballot, or to return it in-person to the store. The store’s future is yours — be a part of the process!

2013 Referendum Results

Our co op has recently concluded our 2013 referendum. Thank you to everyone who participated, your input is vital. An important change to our membership structure has passed. Once implemented, memberships will renew on the anniversary of joining, rather than every August.

Additionally, all seven Board of Director appointments were ratified by membership vote.
