The George Street Co-op is a non-profit natural foods store owned and run by its members.  We sell vegetarian foods with the greatest nutritional value possible, and only minimal processing or additives.  Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op and choose from our excellent selection of fresh organic produce, bulk foods, vitamins & herbs, body care and earth-friendly products, gifts, and more.

Board Game Tuesday at the Café!


All ages are welcome! Tuesdays from 6pm–9pm, come out and join everyone in a game of chess, checkers, backgammon, Scrabble, or Uno — or bring a different game with you to play! Join the Meetup group here.

Meetings & Elections Committee meeting


The Meetings & Elections Committee meets in the Co-op Café at 5pm on the third Thursday of each month. All Co-op members are welcome to attend.

Fresh Produce open mic


A beautiful open mic at the George Street Co-op Café, every Thursday. Signups start at 7:45pm, performances start at 8:00pm. Each comic gets 8 minutes and it’s absolutely free.

International Day of Peace


The United Nations' International Day of Peace, marked every year on September 21, is a global holiday when individuals, communities, nations and governments highlight efforts to end conflict and promote peace. Originally established by U.N. resolution in 1982, "Peace Day" has grown to include millions of people around the world. Snack Attack Comedy Show


Part gut-busting laughs, part gut-filling snacks, this show will leave you fully satisfied. The hosts will serve up hilarious comedians while simultaneously making a snack from scratch, and you will decide the winner. This month, the hosts will each make a snack featuring chocolate chips.

Fall Membership Meeting & Potluck


The George Street Co-op Fall Membership Meeting & Potluck Sunday October 13th, 1pm–4pm New Brunswick Public Library, Community Room (right across the street from the Co-op)

The first hour of the meeting is a potluck meet & greet — get to know your fellow Co-opers!

Help Wanted: Floor Manager

George Street Co-op is looking to add an enthusiastic, self-motivated Floor Manager to our team.

Spring 2015 Referendum Results

The results of the latest membership referendum are in:
1. Members voted to give the Board of Directors the power to change the Co-op’s senior citizen discount policy.
2. Members voted to permit electronic voting in future referendum votes.
3. Members re-elected Marilynn Winston, Chad Hetman, and John Leary to continue serving on the Board of Directors.

Time for the Spring 2015 referendum!

Co-op members, the official ballot box is here! You have TWO WEEKS (until Saturday April 4th) to mail in your referendum ballot, or to return it in-person to the store. The store’s future is yours — be a part of the process!

2013 Referendum Results

Our co op has recently concluded our 2013 referendum. Thank you to everyone who participated, your input is vital. An important change to our membership structure has passed. Once implemented, memberships will renew on the anniversary of joining, rather than every August.

Additionally, all seven Board of Director appointments were ratified by membership vote.

VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!

As a member of the George Street Co Op, you will receive your 2013 referendum in the mail. There are EIGHT questions. Question 1 deals with membership terms, and the remaining seven are ballot votes for each of the seats on the Board of Directors.
