Spam postings

Post by John Leary »

Hi everyone, I just want to apologize for the presence of the occasional spam posting, and to let everyone know I'm continuing to put measures in place to protect our little garden here.

Following the last posting from "Terriopid" -- yes, he actually went to the trouble of registering just to spam us -- I've turned on two more of the messageboard's anti-spam features, features which prevent registration from unconfirmed email addresses. This makes legitimate users work a little harder to sign up, which is why I didn't turn them on in the first place; but clearly we're going to need this measure of protection.

We've gotten three spams in three days. Hopefully we're now protected from any more, but I appreciate everyone's patience as I figure out how to disarm this offensive little intrusion.

Regards,
John
