The George Street Co-op is a non-profit natural foods store owned and run by its members. We sell vegetarian foods with the greatest nutritional value possible, and only minimal processing or additives. Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op and choose from our excellent selection of fresh organic produce, bulk foods, vitamins & herbs, body care and earth-friendly products, gifts, and more.

CLOSED for Independence Day!

Saturday, July 4
The Co-op will be closed on July 4th, in observance of Independence Day.

Personnel Committee Meeting

Wednesday, July 8 at 4:45pm
The Personnel Committee meets each month, usually on the second Wednesday evening. Any Co-op member interested in the inner workings of employee and Board issues is welcome to attend and take part.

Board of Directors meeting

Monday, July 13 at 7:30pm
The Co-op's Board of Directors meets at 7:30pm in the Co-op's upstairs meeting room, the second Monday of each month. All Co-op members are encouraged to attend Board of Directors meetings, whether you prefer to quietly take the discussion in, or to (respectfully) take part.

Outreach Committee meeting

Wednesday, July 15 at 7:30pm
The Outreach Committee meets at 7:30pm in the Co-op's upstairs, either in Namaste Cafe or in the Co-op prep room. All Co-op members are encouraged to attend.

Member orientation

Saturday, July 18 at 2:00pm
Co-op orientations take place from 2:00 to 3:30 pm in the Namaste Cafe. We urge members (and those considering membership) to attend, learn the ropes, and embark on a rewarding volunteer adventure!

Hot dogs, ready to go

For the warmer season, we're now cooking up vegetarian dogs every single day in the store. They're just to the left of the soup and spinach pies, and they're hot and ready to eat. Stop in and try them out.

Seedlings are here!

Spring has come, and it’s a great time to order seedlings for your favorite plants. Just print out one of our order forms, fill it out, and bring it in to any of our cashiers. We’ll call you when your order comes in.

New Saturday hours

After two months trying out expanded weekend store hours, we’ve decided to keep those new hours just on Sundays. On Saturdays, we’ll still be staying open until 7pm, but we’ll now be opening at 10am — the same as the rest of the week.

New website

Our new website is now online! Many of the features are nearly or exactly the same as before, but the underlying architecture is much more solid and allows us to post updates much faster. Have a look around, and if you run into any problems please let us know.
