Welcome to the Co-op!

A place for people who value healthy food, a healthy planet, and cooperation. — Our vision statement

The George Street Co-op is a non-profit natural foods store owned and run by its members.  We sell vegetarian foods with the greatest nutritional value possible, and only minimal processing or additives.  Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op and choose from our excellent selection of fresh organic produce, bulk foods, vitamins & herbs, body care and earth-friendly products, gifts, and more.

Upcoming events — get involved!

CLOSED for Labor Day!

The Co-op will be closed Monday, in observance of Labor Day.

Member orientation

Co-op orientations begin upstairs in the Namaste Cafe and include a complete tour of the store area. Come meet other Co-op members, learn the ropes, and embark on a rewarding volunteer adventure! All attendees get 2 hours towards their Co-op work credit.

Board of Directors meeting

The Co-op's Board of Directors meets at 7:30pm in the Co-op's upstairs meeting room, the second Monday of each month. All Co-op members are encouraged to attend Board of Directors meetings, whether you prefer to observe discussion or to (respectfully) take part.

Membership Committee meeting

The Membership Committee meets at 8:00pm in the Co-op upstairs, the third Monday of each month. Co-op members are welcome to attend and suggest ways for the Co-op to better serve and represent the values of its members.

International Day of Peace

The United Nations' International Day of Peace, marked every year on September 21, is a global holiday when individuals, communities, nations and governments highlight efforts to end conflict and promote peace. Originally established by U.N. resolution in 1982, "Peace Day" has grown to include millions of people around the world.
